Advertising Revenue Growth In South East Asia

As per the recent estimations of eMarketer, digital ad spending throughout the world is expected to reach $200 billion in 2017, and this is expected to witness a double-digit growth by 2020! We, are excited to be part of this growth.

eMarketer, in collaboration with IAB Singapore, also put forward the digital ad spending forecast for Singapore and South East Asia, and it is no different than the growth expected. The growing consumer usage of smartphones, videos, and social media has continued to nurture the digital advertisements. “Mobile advertising will drive digital ad spending over the forecast period. This year, mobile will account for 63.3% of digital and 24.3% of total media ad spending. By 2021, it will grow to a 77.1% share of digital and 37.1% of total media ad investments.” In Singapore, it is expected that the digital ad spending is likely to cross $370 million by the end of 2017, and continue to grow by 30% by 2020. Aside from Singapore, where brands have shown a strong spend level, but countries like Taiwan and Hong Kong are also sailing in the same boat. Hong Kong, too, will witness growth of whopping 20% in overall media budgets, which is expected to grow 24% by 2020. Further, it is interesting to note that Taiwan is projected to have more than two-fifths of the total ad spend be on digital ads this year. This region by far has the highest proportion of growth in digital ad spending than other regions. It is phenomenal to see huge growth opportunities in these markets as they continue to utilize and expand their brand marketing efforts through programmatic platforms.
